What About Those Gift Cards?!

Better Use Those Gift Cards: The Holidays are upon us. Naughty or nice, everyone has their wishlist and expects gifts. But let’s face it. People have gotten more complicated, particular or, dare we say, picky! That’s where gift cards come into play. According to the National Retail Federation, the most popular gift categories this season include clothing (54%), followed by gift cards (44%), toys (36%), books, video games and other media (31%) and food/candy (30%). That’s a whole lotta of “I’m not sure what I want, so get me a gift card so I don’t spend it.” That’s right! Did you know that any given time 10% to 19% of gift card balances remain unused. And around 6% of gift cards are never even used! Who wins? The companies that sell them. So this Holiday Season, load up your gift cards. Swing by the Starbucks drive thru on your way to Target or wherever else you have your gift cards. Make a day of it! Just be sure to spend them.

Who’s On Top in the Franchise World?

Have you thought about owning a business? But you don’t know where to start? That’s why franchising is attractive to so many new entrepreneurs, especially in the childcare space. A franchise is a business model in which an individual or company (the franchisee) is granted the rights to operate a business using the branding, products and operational systems of an established company (the franchisor). This agreement typically involves the franchisee paying fees or royalties in exchange for these rights and ongoing support. So who were the top franchise choices in 2024 in ECE? Well, according to FranShares, which allows folks to invest in new franchise opportunities, the following are the top ECE franchises in the US (in no particular order). What are your thoughts?

Santa in the News

Jungles or Bust! There is no place Santa won’t go. Including the hot and humid Amazon rainforest. This Santa braved conditions that even Dora the Explorer wouldn’t touch. Santa braved jungle conditions and fought off Swiper trying to swipe those presents to make sure even children in the most remote of villages can have a magical Christmas.

Santa Landing in Style: Reaching all those kids within a 24 hour window is no easy task. That’s why this cruise line decided to build a landing pad to allow the big guy to find the ship in the middle of the seas. It’s no red carpet, but assuming he’s wearing enough red, it won’t matter much. Let’s hope it’s not a crash landing.

Travel Hacks

We all know that traveling over the holidays can be a huge PAIN in the rear. That’s whey we thought it might be helpful to send a few travel tips that may help in case you are going somewhere for the Holidays!

1. Pack Smarter with Compression Bags

Use compression bags or packing cubes to save space and keep your suitcase organized. This way, you can bring more essentials (or gifts!) without overpacking. Plus, it’s easier to find items quickly, reducing stress at airports or during last-minute packing.

2. Download Travel Apps for Real-Time Updates

Apps like FlightAware or your airline’s official app can keep you informed of delays, gate changes, or cancellations in real-time. For road trips, apps like Waze help navigate traffic efficiently. These tools save time and ensure you’re always one step ahead.

3. Keep a "Holiday Travel Kit" Handy

Pack a small bag with essentials like snacks, a reusable water bottle, phone chargers, toiletries, and an extra pair of socks. Keep it in your carry-on or easily accessible during road trips. This kit ensures you’re prepared for unexpected delays or long waits, keeping you comfortable and stress-free.

Enjoy a stress-free holiday journey! 🌟
