🏛️ Federal Funding - Just How Much do States Get?

With the uncertainty of Federal Funding for ECE across the US, we were wondering, just how much does each state get from the Federal government? How are federal funds allocated? Who are the top recipients at a state level?

We learned that state allocations are based on various statistics, such as population data from the Census Bureau, the number of free and reduced school lunch programs, and other data sources.

ECE In The News

🏡 Home-Based Care Deal: Child Care Providers United — the union that represents about 60k family child care providers in California — has reached a tentative deal with the state after its contract expired July 1. After winning the right to unionize in 2019, this segment of educators has now been able to receive improved benefits for an often underrepresented group in ECE. Check out the details 👉👉 HERE.

📚 New ECE Loan Program: Home childcare providers in Murray County, MN are now eligible for forgivable loans up to $5,000 and childcare centers are eligible for forgivable loans up to $10,000. The funds are to be used to become a licensed provider or create more openings for children in a current operation. It’s great to see local groups help tackle the need to create ECE access!
