🍼 Adulting Is Hard — Enter Adult Squeezie Pouches: Remember when you used to hand out squeeze pouches to the toddlers in your classroom and think, "Man, that looks convenient"? Well, congrats! Grown-ups have finally caught up.
Burnt-out millennials who can't find time to meal prep (or even, you know, chew) are now guzzling their lunch through straws. Companies like Liquid+, Huel, and Ka'Chava are making BANK selling meal-replacement shakes and pouches that promise nutrition without the hassle of using your teeth.
It’s big business. The meal-replacement shake sector is projected to hit $7 billion by 2035. Sure, it's convenient. But here's the catch: Consumer Reports found that many of these products contain more lead per serving than you should consume in an entire day. Yikes.
Want to know what they look like and so you don’t confuse them with the kids’ pouches? Check out the article HERE.

📣 Advocacy Isn't a Side Hustle — It's Your Job
This week, we're thrilled to feature a guest piece from Jaime Rechkemmer of Aim4Impact Consulting — and if you've ever felt like advocacy is "something extra" you do when you magically have time, she's here to tell you: it's not.
Every staffing decision, every tuition conversation, every enrollment waitlist — it all lives inside a system shaped by policy. You're already living advocacy whether you call it that or not. Jaime breaks down exactly why early childhood professionals need to stop treating advocacy like optional homework and start treating it like the leadership skill it is.
She covers three critical issues shaping ECE right now:
Workforce sustainability (spoiler: it's a math problem, not a passion problem),
The impossible gap between quality costs and what families can pay, and
Mixed-delivery pre-k expansion that could either strengthen or destabilize your program depending on how it's designed.
Read Jaime's full piece to learn how to show up, speak up, and make your voice count without burning out in the process - from an INDUSTRY PRO.
🎟️ P.S. She is offering a great DISCOUNT to an upcoming conference for ECE leaders touching upon this and many other topics. Click the BUTTON below to get the deal.

🏛️ Universal Childcare? California Researchers Say It's Possible: Stanford and UC researchers just dropped a roadmap showing California could implement universal childcare for kids 3 and under for $12-$21 billion annually. The investment could bring 100k mothers into the workforce, generating up to $23 billion in GDP. Where will the money come from? Options include lottery funds, sin taxes, endowments, or (gasp) reallocating existing budgets. Is this the future? Maybe. But it'll take serious political will. Read the full breakdown HERE!
🚨 Workforce Disruptions Impact California Child Care: California’s child care sector — where nearly 40% of educators are foreign-born — is facing new operational challenges tied to immigration enforcement activity. Some providers report staffing shortages and enrollment fluctuations, adding to existing access constraints. The situation underscores the sector’s reliance on a stable workforce to meet family demand. For one perspective on this story click HERE.

📅 On this Day in History: In 1909, Geronimo — Apache warrior, medicine man, and one of the last Native American leaders to formally surrender to the U.S. government — died at age 79. His story is a powerful reminder of resilience, resistance, and the fight to protect one's people and way of life. Want to teach kids about Indigenous history in age-appropriate ways?
